The Challenge

Venga was struggling to create easy ways for users to visualize their data. They tracked useful insights, but found that they were hard to understand and sift through. I was tasked with creating more usable, easier to understand visuals and recreating the internal user dashboard from scratch. I took on redesigning the "Segmentation" and "attendance" tabs.

The Process

I started with figuring out the best way to represent the data so that it would be easier to visualize and understand. I figured out what graphs would best do the job, and what features would a more personal touch to a dashboard. I sketched out a few ideas on paper, and started working in Sketch to create wireframes. I came up with a few options for each.

The Solution

I created a dashboard with the tabs listed on the left, and highlighted the tab the user was in so they'd know exactly where on the menu they were. I collapsed the three graphs from the original Attendance tab to allow the user to view all the information at once and filter accordingly. For the Segmentation tab, instead of listing multiple columns of numbers, I came up with a way for the user to visualize the data more easily and view it in percentages. If they hovered over certain sections of the donut graphs, it would allow them to see demographic information and more.
